Sadaharu Horio

IMG_1753.JPG

Sadaharu Horio (1939-2018)  was a member of the Gutai Art Association, the historical and one of the most prominent avant-garde art groups in postwar Japan, from 1966 to 1972. Since 1985, he has been attempting to visualize the invisible "air" that he describes as a "matter of course" and creates through his behavioral production.
Horio's works, in which everyday life and art strongly connect, make us think anew about what art is and what it means.
